Frequently asked

What's free, and what's Twopar Pro?

The free tier plays a full round. All six game types (Nassau, Skins, Wolf, Best Ball, Vegas, Hi-Lo), full seasons, ghost players, live scoring, auto-minimized payouts, push notifications — all of it, no ads, no tracking, no asterisks.

Twopar Pro ($14.99 / year, one-time — does not auto-renew) adds power tools for golfers who count every stroke:

  • Full hole-by-hole scorecard (the Card tab) with stroke tracking
  • Handicaps with net scoring — strokes on the right holes
  • The scorecard scanner for paper cards
  • Real-course library with par, yardage, and handicap index
  • Side-bet library — Sandies, Greenies, Snake, Birdies pool, Nassau side, Hi-Lo side
  • Advanced stats — trends, hole-by-hole, head-to-head, win rates

Pro is non-renewing on purpose. You buy a year when the season starts; you don't get charged through your winter off-season. If your Pro lapses, your past rounds keep their full scorecards — you just won't enter new ones in Card mode until you renew.

How do I score a round?

Open the active game and tap a hole. Enter the gross score for each player; net scores compute automatically from each player's course handicap. You can also use the scorecard scanner on the game screen — snap the paper card and Twopar will pull out yardages, pars, and stroke index for you.

How are payouts calculated?

For games with stakes, payouts use a raw pairwise settlement: each point difference between two players is multiplied by the point value. The end-of-round summary shows every player's net owed / owing amount and minimizes the total number of transactions needed to settle.

Translation: one person pays, one person collects, wherever possible.

What is a ghost player?

A placeholder for someone who doesn't have a Twopar account yet. You can create a ghost when setting up a game and score them like a real player. If they later join Twopar, they claim their ghost profile and inherit the historical scores — no data lost, no double-entry.

How do I enable push notifications?

On first launch the app asks for notification permission. To change it later:

  • iOS · Settings → Notifications → Twopar
  • Android · Settings → Apps → Twopar → Notifications
How do I reset my handicap?

Your course handicap can be adjusted when you join a game or season. Per-game handicaps override any default you've set on your profile, so you can play scratch on Saturday and 18 on Sunday without rewriting anything.

Can I track season-long results?

Yes. Create a season, add the same group of players, and play rounds inside it. Twopar keeps a running tally of cumulative points and dollars across every round — and the season screen shows the standings, hottest player, and most-owed-money board.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile → Delete Account inside the app. You'll be asked to confirm. Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted within 30 days. You can also email kenhaberle@gmail.com to request deletion if you've lost access.

When is Twopar coming to Android?

The Android build is complete and currently in closed testing with Google Play. We're working through the final paperwork for an open release — expected Q3 2026. If you'd like to join closed testing in the meantime, email us with the Google account you'd like added.

Does Twopar work without a phone signal on the course?

Yes. Scoring is local-first — you can score a full round in airplane mode, in a creek bed, anywhere. Scores sync to your group when your phone gets a signal again. Live scoring updates for other players require a connection.
